Gilman Essay Writing Workshop
Join Overseas Programs and The Writing Center to learn more about the Gilman Study Abroad Scholarship. This virtual workshop will cover the application process, essay writing tips, and you’ll hear from past Gilman Scholarship Recipients.
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship: Offers scholarships ranging from $100-5000 (up to $8000 for Critical Language Award) to students receiving a Federal Pell Grant during their study abroad program.
- Gilman Deadline: Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 11:59pm Pacific Time
- For study abroad programs starting in Summer 2023, Fall or Academic Year 2023, and Spring 2024.
- General Eligibility (see the Gilman website for more information):
- A citizen or national of the United States;
- An undergraduate student in good standing
- Receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during the term of their study abroad program or internship;
- Credit-bearing study abroad or internship program.
- Critical Need Language Award: For applicants who are studying a critical need language while abroad in a country in which the language is predominantly spoken have the option to be considered for the Critical Need Language Award of up to $8,000.
