Mijeong Mimi Kim specializes in second & foreign language pedagogy and material development for Foreign Language & Heritage Language learners of Korean.

Mimi Kim's research and teaching interests include developing technology-based curriculums, content-based instruction as well as project-based language curriculums that develop literacy and language proficiency by incorporating authentic materials such as literary works and popular media including drama, films, and songs.

Additionally, she has published and given workshops and presentations on the topic of incorporating authentic materials in language curriculums through the use of folktales and other cultural literary works.  Most recently, she co-authored a book titled Tigers, Fairies, and Gods: Enchanting folktales from Korea (Kong & Park 2019).
