Wenhui Chen teaches courses in modern Chinese, as well as Chinese for heritage speakers.

Teaching Chinese as a second language is not only a skill but also an art. The longer Wenhui Chen teaches, the more she feels that it is indeed an art.

Her research interests are pedagogical grammar of Chinese, sequencing of structures in pedagogical grammar, reading and writing in Chinese teaching techniques, integrate Chinese culture into Chinese language teaching, language proficiency testing.

She was an AP Reader in Chinese, writing grader of Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) and reviewer of listening questions. She also took part in the review of textbook manuscript for Chinese heritage language learners, served on the WU Fulbright Committee in 2021, 2022.

Wenhui Chen received her MA in Graduate Institute of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at National Taiwan Normal University. Before she joined the WU faculty, she taught Chinese at college level as well as high school in US. She was also responsible for the teacher training program while she was teaching in Taiwan and in Japan.

A fun fact is that she is a fan of TV dramas and movies because life is like a drama, as drama like life.
